Commercial Furanflex Chimney Lining

18th Century Grade 2 listed building

The Cat Inn has its origins in the 16th Century. It had recently suffered a chimney fire, and had suffered ongoing problems with draw.

Greystone Chimneys were asked to provide a solution. On inspection it was determined that the canopy was of insufficient size for the size of flue. The client wanted to retain as large as possible a fire, which is one of the main features of the bar area. Multiple solutions were required. We recommended the installation of a new canopy. However, a stainless steel liner would not allow for adequate flue dimensions, so we recommended the use of Furanflex RWV. The installation was carried out over 2 days, and on completion the fireplace was left functioning properly for the first time in many years.
