Because it moulds itself to the sides of the flue, and is extremely smooth and well-insulated, Furanflex maximises chimney performance and cross-sectional area – allowing old, condemned and awkwardly designed flues to be re-opened, and giving far greater freedom over a property’s layout and design.
Unlike steel liners – classified as temporary by HETAS – Furanflex is also guaranteed for 25 years. It’s made of a glass fibre reinforced thermosetting resin composite, which is stronger than steel and will not corrode.
It is highly heat resistant to 400 degrees Centigrade, only 3mm thick – and as there are no joints, the gas-tight finish (certified to 200 pascals) eliminates the requirement for inspection hatches under Gas Safe regulations.
